Sheffield Alliance Cricket Club have finished 2nd in the Premier Section for season 2009. A fantastic achievement in our first outing in the top division. The club has exceeded all expectations for this season and finished as Sheffield’s Number 1 team in the league.
Asad Mahmood was voted as the player of the season for 2009 by his fellow team mates at last night’s awards ceremony. Excellent wicket keeping and numerous crucial match winning partnerships contributed to his nomination. Other awards included Swapnil as the best batsman and Irfan Mirza the best bowler. It was also unanimously agreed by all members to continue with the current club officials. After a successful season it was deemed necessary for the current structure to remain intact to continue the good work.

Sheffield Alliance Cricket Club have been promoted to the Premier Section of the Quaid E Azam Cricket league. Completing back to back promotions and making the leap from Section C to Premier in 3 years. A major achievement for a local cricket club on a very limited budget and a great example of what can be achieved with local home grown cricketers.
First time participants in the annual PMC Pakistan Day Celebration Cricket competition, the club secured the trophy. The team on the day were unbeaten in all 6 games. Irfan Mirza, Yar Mohammed, Shoaib Yasin, Sajid Hussain, Mehmood Mirza, Shafquat Khan and Farooq Rauf made up the squad.
